1. About GamblingTruth.org

GamblingTruth.org is a non-profit public interest initiative dedicated to exposing the gambling industry's predatory practices, reframing gambling addiction as a public health issue, and connecting individuals with recovery resources.

We are not a gambling operator, a gambling affiliate, or a government body. We do not facilitate gambling of any kind. Our purpose is entirely educational and advocacy-focused.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws
• Transmit unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, servers, or databases
• Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or other malicious software
• Scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect personal data from the site without authorisation
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or organisation
• Use the site to harass, threaten, or intimidate any person
• Post or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to our site at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.

3. Petitions & Signatures

When you sign a petition on our site, you confirm that:

• You are providing your genuine name and email address
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You consent to your name (but not email) potentially being included in publicly submitted petition documents
• You authorise us to submit the petition, including your signature, to legislators, regulators, or relevant bodies

Petition signatures are used solely for the stated campaign purpose. We do not sell or share your signature data with third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Donations

Donations made through this site are processed securely via Stripe. By making a donation you confirm:

• You are the authorised owner of the payment method used
• The donation is a voluntary contribution and not a purchase of goods or services
• Recurring (monthly) donations will continue until you cancel through the Stripe customer portal or contact us
• We reserve the right to reject donations for any source which we believe to be contrary to the mission of Gambling Truth Project including, but not necessarily limited to, gambling industry operators, executives, and industry groups.

Donations are non-refundable except in cases of clear processing error. To request a refund contact us at rob@gamblingtruth.org within 14 days of the transaction.

5. Newsletter & Communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter or sign a petition, you may receive email updates from us. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also unsubscribe by contacting us directly.

We will never sell your email address to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Content & Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including text, graphics, logos, documentary footage, and research summaries — is the property of GamblingTruth.org or used with permission, and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may:

• Share links to our content for non-commercial, educational purposes
• Quote brief excerpts with clear attribution and a link back to the original
• Print or download content for your own personal, non-commercial use

You may not:

• Reproduce substantial portions of our content without written permission
• Use our name, logo, or branding without authorisation
• Create derivative works for commercial purposes

Our site contains links to external websites, helplines, and resources. These are provided for your convenience and do not constitute an endorsement of their content or operators. We have no control over external sites and accept no responsibility for their content, availability, or practices.

The National Problem Gambling Helpline and other helpline resources listed are independent organisations. Always verify contact information directly with the relevant organisation.

8. Disclaimers

This site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that the information on this site is complete, current, or error-free. We reserve the right to update, correct, or remove content at any time.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Gambling Truth Project and its operators, board members, executives, and employees, shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the site shall not exceed the amount you donated in the preceding 12 months (or $100, whichever is greater).

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, County of Camden.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered newsletter subscribers by email.
